[Stracey album]. [ca. 1850s-1870s]

Scrapbook album, bound in brown leather embossed with a diamond pattern, containing approximately 50 pages of collages (19 of which are photocollages), comprised of photographs, prints, sketches, and clippings. Most of the photographic prints are cartes-de-visite of unidentified people; the drawings are by various artists; the clippings are taken from a variety of published sources, primarily English and a few French; the handwriting is believed to be that of Diana Stracey. Also included are three Japanese color prints by Toyokuni III from an unidentified series on the four seasons. Sequentially, the first and third of these prints are dated 1852 and the second is dated 1854.
